Perth Homeless Support Group

After confirming our charitable cause for 2023, the Committee then set out to find a Partner Charity to advocate and raise funds for. With some committee members following the plight of Perth Homeless Support Group for years, and with PHSG’s funding and resources under strain, supporting their cause was an easy choice.

About Perth Homeless Support Group

PHSG support the homeless community by:

• An outreach program on Monday, Wednesdays & Saturdays;

• Providing emergency food hampers with essential items for those at risk of becoming homeless; and

• advocating for and helping people who’ve lost hope in the system, providing tailored support to get them back on their feet.

Two years ago, the cost of their weekly outreach service was $12.50 per person. Now that cost is $17.50. And they help over 250 people each Sunday through their program.

The number of people needing their help is on the rise, however financial support and donations are waning. They also receive no government funding. This puts their vital work at risk. It’s needless to say that without their weekly outreach and other initiatives, the impact to the lives of those sleeping rough would be devastating.
