Our name, maathemis, is derived from:

• Maat or Ma’at, the ancient Egyptian goddess who personified the concepts of truth, order, harmony, law, morality & justice; and

• Themis, the goddess and personification of justice, divine order, law and custom.

Maat was sometimes depicted with wings or an Ostrich feather on her head, which is the origin of maathemis’ feather symbol.

maathemis strives to embody the principles truth, harmony and justice in the work that we do to uplift and support our community.
